I struggled coming up with a graduation column. It wasn’t that my own experience was particularly bad. More like it didn’t lend itself to any funny stories that I can share.So, I did the cliche thing. I crowdsourced advice from my friends. And this is the list we came up with.

Wellston FFA wins at State

Wellston FFA performed well during the 100th Oklahoma FFA Convention on May 6, with two members coming home with hardware.

State champs!

Area athletes brought home seven state championships over the weekend. Stroud’s Peyton Davis won the Class 2A 100-meter dash and 100-meter hurdles, giving her an incredible 11 state championships in her career. She won the 100 meters four years in a row.

Ronald Leon Murray, Sr. was born November 10, 1935, in Davenport, Oklahoma, to Roy and Grace (Baker) Murray. He passed away on April 17, 2026, in his home in Chandler at the age of 90.Ronald e served his country proudly in the Oklahoma Army National Guard and the United States Air Force.
