Georgie Carol Meeker Garrison passed away on April 11, 2025, in Shawnee. Georgie was born on July 16, 1946, to Reece and Clara Meeker in Kingsville, TX.Georgie Garrison is survived by her two daughters, three grandchildren and five greatgrandchildren.

Cheerful laughter and chatter filled the busy cafeteria as children gathered around a table, taking their time to choose from a smorgasbord of snacks, like fruit, nuts, water, and more. Teachers were on hand to help them out.

Wellston college student recieves OSU scholarship for 2025/26 year

Brooke Payne from Wellston has been awarded the Janet Meinders Charalampous Endowed Scholarship from the Oklahoma State University Ferguson College of Agriculture, according to a press release from the school.Payne is studying natural resource ecology and management.
