Tena Mittasch (aka Ernestine Lavon Butler) entered this world on April 26, 1941, to John and Vera (Smothers) Butler and left to join her Heavenly Father on April 3, 2026, at the age of 84.Tena resided in Carney at the time of her death with her loving husband of 25 years, Jerry Mittasch.

JillianFrankandKennedy Allen have been selected as Rotarians of the Month for April by the Chandler Rotary Club.Jillian Frank is the daughter of Deidra McMillan and Nick McMillan, and Puddin Frank and Stephanie Frank. Ever since kindergarten, she has been attending Chandler Public Schools.

Woman charged with A&B with deadly weapon

The Lincoln County district attorney filed charges against a Chandler woman for assault and battery with a dangerous weapon and leaving the scene of an accident on March 27 after she allegedly hit a neighbor with her car.

Pandemonium ensued on the courthouse lawn in Chandler on April 4, as the city held its annual Easter egg hunt. Dozens of children showed up ready to collect as many eggs as they could, with the hunt lasting a grand total of about three to five minutes. The future is here for the Carney Lady Bulldogs slow-pitch team.After going 8-8 last year and being eliminated from the playoffs in district, the young team has shot off to an 8-1 start this spring and holds the No. 13 ranking in Class B.
