Dr. James “Elton” Dickson of Chandler, Oklahoma, passed away on December 5, 2025, at the age of 93. Elton was born on September 9, 1932, in Chandler to Dr. R. E. Dickson and Lou Berta Dickson.

Two Lincoln County students at Seminole State College have brought home awards from a recent business-focused competition at East Central University on Nov. 12.Ava Freeze from Prague was part of a two-person team that competed in a Shark Tank-inspired competition called Tiger Tank.

Santa and reindeer in Stroud

Santa and his reindeer will be making a stop in Stroud next week. The Stroud Chamber of Commerce is hosting an event on Dec. 17 at the Stroud Route 66 Pavilion on Main Street.Santa will be there with some of his reindeer for photos. There will also be food trucks, venders, hayrides and more.
