Earl Bruce Miller was born in El Reno, OK, in September of 1941. Bruce was raised in Copan, OK, and attended Coffeyville Jr. College, where he obtained an Associate of Business Education, then graduated from Northeastern State University with a Bachelor of Science.

Toni Frances Walker Riner was born March 3, 1949, to Tom and Peggy (Masten)Walker. She grew up in Chandler and is a Chandler alumnus, Class of 1967. Toni married Carroll Corley (deceased in 1977), and they had two children, Cheryl and Paul.

Larry Don Kalka, Sr. was born on October 8, 1943, in Chandler, to Irvin and Rubye Kalka. He passed away peacefully on October 26, 2025, in Texas at the age of 82.He loved growing up on the farm and spoke of his childhood with great fondness.

Weston Miller, Kennedy Allen and Lexi Martzall have been named the October Lions of the Month by the Chandler Lions Club.Weston Miller is the son of Adam and Mary Miller. He currently has a 4.0 grade point average (GPA) and is ranked first in his class.

The Oklahoma Farm Bureau recently invited high school students across the state, including Meeker FFA member Kaydence Staude who was selected to attend the annual Capitol Camp held at the Oklahoma state capitol building.

CHS Theatre review

The Chandler High School Theatre Department is hosting a preview of their state-bound one-act “IN DARKNESS, AUDIO FLOWERS BLOOM” by Alvaro Saar Rios.The preview will take place at the Chandler High School Performing Arts Center on Nov. 2 at 2 p.m. Admission is free, but donations are appreciated.

The American Legion Auxiliary invites all veterans and their families and the Stroud community to Ed. Smalley Centennial Park this Sunday from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. for a community picnic luncheon to honor our veterans. Lunch is free to veterans and their family members.

Prague’s girls posted three of the 10 fastest times and took third in the Class3A state cross country meet Saturday at North Rock Creek.Sophomore Jocelyn Ward finished second, running a 12:03.1, junior Hailey Johnson was second, finishing in 12:20.1 and sophomore Hanna Roulette turned in a 12:29.
