Joyce Marie Flowers was born August 9, 1953, in Oklahoma City to Betty and Sog (Branham) Willis. She passed away peacefully onAugust 5, 2025, at the age of 71.Joyce was preceded in death by her husband, parents, a sister, a brother and her in-laws.

Jeffrey Curtis Brake was a dedicated truck driver for most of his life. He was born and raised in Niangua, Missouri, and later made his home in Oklahoma. Jeff passed away in Norman on June 30, 2025, following a medical incident while in custody. He was 61 years old.

Seminole State College Honor Roll

Seminole State College released the names of honor students for its 2025 Summer Term, including several Lincoln County students.A total of 179 students were recognized. To make the honor roll, students needed to complete six or more credit hours during the summer term and maintain a 3.

Oklahoma 4-H’ers were in the spotlight during the 104th State 4-H Roundup as they took center stage with workshops, contests, district rallies and more. More than 750 club members and adults gathered on the Oklahoma State University campus for the biggest 4-H event of the year on July 23-25.

Hunting and fishing has changed so much since I was a kid. Of course that’s been considerably over 50 years.That can probably be attributed to all the various rules and regulations put in place by the Oklahoma Department of Wildlife Conservation over a period of time.

Drug charges against pair

A man and a woman from Carney are each facing multiple drug counts and each has been previously been convicted of felonies.Formal charges were filed in Lincoln County District Court July 22, 2025 against Clyde Edgar Gladden III, 24, and Rita Ann Mendenhall, 45.
