Debra Case, Caregiver Coordinator for the Caregiver Program, advises that help is available for those who are providing care for someone through the Central Oklahoma Economic Development District Area Agency on Aging.
The Caregiver Program helps those who are caring for someone 60 years of age or older with Alzheimer’s, Dementia or Parkinson’s disease or for seniors who are caring for a relative child under the age of 18.
Respite Vouchers are available for a total of $400 for a three-month period. The caregiver can hire someone of their choosing to give them a muchneeded break. There are no income guidelines for this program.
