Terry James French

Terry James French of Chandler was born Thursday, March 2, 1961, in Oklahoma City and died Monday, September 13, 2021, in Oklahoma City. He was 60 years, six months and 11 days old.

Terry, the son of Harvie Lavon French and Margaret Alene (Doherty) French Prater, married Lisa Lynn Wallin on Friday, May 1, 1981, in Rainier, Ore. They celebrated 40 years of marriage before his passing.

A 1979 graduate of Rainier High School, Terry proudly served his country in the United States Navy during the U.S. Invasion of Grenada. He was a Union electrician for International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, Local Union 1141.

He enjoyed fishing for catfish and tinkering in the garage. He loved spending time with family and adored his grandchildren going to watch his grandchild Kylee cheer and his grandson Christopher play football and baseball. He was happy when his granddaughter Emma decided to be fishing buddies and enjoyed watching the youngest, Ethan, flying in the glider.

Terry was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Glenn Ray French and his beloved German shepherd, Jerry Lee.

Survivors include his wife Lisa Lynn French of the home; his children, Carl Edward French and wife Clarelaine of Oklahoma City, Sandra Lynn French of Norman, Okla., Sarah Irene Maselli and husband Christopher Dean of Midwest City, Okla., and Ethan James-Lavon French of the home.

He is also survived by three grandchildren, Kylee Pompeii Maselli and Christopher Dean Maselli II, both of Midwest City, and Emma Lynn French of Norman; two siblings, Danny Dwayne French and wife Teresa Lynn of Matlock, Wash., and Lavonda French of Oklahoma; nieces, Brandie, Tori, Kelly, Jennifer, Crystal, Tara and Tia; nephews, Jerry, Danny, Damian, Christian, Tyler and Travis; his half-sister Coletta; and many other relatives and dear friends.

Services will be 2 p.m., Thursday, September 23, 2021, in the chapel of Brown’s Funeral Service in Atoka, Okla., which handled the final arrangements. Pastor Cary Monaco will officiate and burial will follow at Bentley Cemetery in Bentley, Okla.
