The Central Community Foundation recently provided a grant to the Chandler Fire Department to help fund the purchase of wildland firefighting gear. Pictured are Bobby Buchanan, Chandler Fire Department fire chief, and Gretchen Harlow, Central Community Foundation director.
The Chandler Fire Department is the only department in Lincoln County that is staffed around the clock with full-time firefighters. The department also enlists the help of volunteer firefighters. The grant will help the department purchase 12 sets of wildland firefighting gear to replace the department’s worn and outdated gear. The Central Community Foundation provides grants through the Operation Round Up program at Central Rural Electric Cooperative.
