A new award for Business of the Year was created this year and accepting the award on behalf of Prairie Pointe Assisted Living was administrator Jackie Alexander. Congratulations to all these deserving recipients. A big thank you to the members of the Junior Chamber of Commerce for serving as wait staff.
Here’s the latest on our Bugle Boy Statue. Every week I tell you he is arriving in Stroud but there is once again a delay, and it is totally my fault. We are having an inscription on the base of the statue, and I was thinking that would happen after the Bugle Boy arrived in Stroud. After talking to the company, they will inscribe on him before they deliver him. They told me that would delay delivery just a bit, but they would move us to the front of the line. I promise he will be here soon. We just want to make sure we do things right.
I attended the Middle School baseball game this past Monday and it was a cold night for baseball. The team plays at the new field and the seat-back chairs in the bleachers make the experience more comfortable. Also, the stands do help minimize the wind and weather so that is a plus, too. The Tigers hosted the Prague Red Devils, and the Red Devils took home the win. The Little League 8U team will host a tournament this weekend with the first game being Friday night at 6:30 p.m. in Foster Park. If any coaches have sports information they would like included in this column please get your information to me.
The American Legion is raffling off a handmade knife with the proceeds going towards the Bugle Boy Project. The knife and case are both hand-made by a veteran and member of the Bristow American Legion. Tickets are $5.00 and the drawing for the winner will be held at the May American Legion meeting.
