Larry Patrick Haney, Sr was born May 13, 1944 in Wichita Falls, Texas to R.D. and Alta May (Patrick) Haney. He passed away June 17, 2023 in Wellston at the age of 79.
He spent most of his childhood in Petrolia, Texas and later graduated from Fox High School in Oklahoma with the class of 1962. He married his high school sweetheart, Joyce, and they were married almost 60 years until her passing in 2022.
The bulk of his working career was dedicated to Fred Jones Ford in Oklahoma City for 35 years as the parts manager. He was also an avid member of the NCHA (National Cutting Horse Association).
Larry was preceded in death by his wife of almost 60 years, Joyce; parents, R.D. Haney and Alta May (Patrick) Haney; as well as 8 siblings, Patsy Jackson, Wanda Haney, Dorothy Marsee, Billye Patterson, Jack, Junior, Robert and Albert J.W. Haney. Survivors include his children, Larry Haney, Jr and wife Angie of Wellston, Lani and husband Justin Kozicki of Norman; and two grandsons along with other family and friends.
A private memorial will be held at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of Lehman Funeral Home of Wellston.
