Lions of the month announced

Kali Beall, Colton Burbach and Ashlee Beatty have been named the February Lions of the Month by the Lions Club.

Kali Beall is the daughter of Kevin and Tracy Beall.

After graduating, she plans to attend the University of Central Oklahoma and join the nursing program to get her RN or LPN.

Her awards and honors include BSL, CPR, a Clinical Training Award and CNA.

Beall has play softball for 14 years, basketball for 10 years, run track for two years, been a member of the yearbook for one year and BPA for one year. She is also a member of Positive Peers.

Her community involvement includes Angel Tree, collecting pop tabs, donating dolls to the nursing home, and bringing awareness to the Be the Match program.

Colton Burbach is the son of Poppy and Dustin Danker and Chris and Jane Burbach. He has three brothers who also attend Chandler schools.

Burbach is in his second year of the Computer Networking Technology program at Gordon Cooper Technology Center. After graduation, Colton plans to attend Rose State College and major in Cyber Security with a minor in Vocal Music.

At GCTC, Colton is an active member of Business Professionals of America and Co-Captain of his team, The Terrorbytes, for the CyberPatriot program.

During his four years at CHS,, Burbach has been involved in both archery and Music Makers. He was voted this year’s Music Makers president. He was November’s Student Rotarian of the Month and is a member of the 20232024 BancFirst Student Board of Directors. He played the role of Lurch in the CHS Drama Department’s Addam’s Family Musical and will take on the role of Audrey II in this spring’s Little Shop of Horrors.

Colton’s awards and honors include numerous Superior ratings at OSSAA State Music Contest, 2020, 2021, 2022, & 2023 ECOCDA Honor Choir, 2023 Oklahoma Arts Institute Chorus at Quartz Mountain, 2022 OKMEA All-State Mixed Chorus, and 2024 OKMEA All-State Mixed Chorus Third Alternate.

Colton has volunteered at Chandler’s Nightmare on Main Street and has performed with the CHS Music Makers at various community events and programs, including the annual Veteran’s Day Assembly.

Ashlee Beatty is the daughter of Jennifer and Ralph “Bo” Pryor and Danny Beatty, and has five siblings.

After graduation, Ashlee plans to attend the University of Central Oklahoma (UCO) in the fall of 2024 and major in graphic design. She also plans to try out for the UCO mascot - Buddy the Bronco - and hopes to launch a career selling her own art.

Ashlee made the 2023 Superintendent’s Honor Roll, achieved Academic Excellence in Wildlife Management in 2023, and earned FFA Greenhand in 2020 and 2023. She has also won OSSAA Sweepstakes in choir in 2022 and 2023 and All-American Mascot in 2023, for which she performed in the halftime show of the Citrus Bowl. Additional awards for mascot include the UCA Crowd Pleaser Award (2023), the Traditional Mascot Award (2023), the UCA Overall Spirit Award and various others.

She has participated in the Music Makers choir for two years, varsity cheer as mascot (Leo the Lion) for two years and FFA for four years.

Ashlee has been involved in and assisted with the Greenfield Girl Scout Day Camp, Stamp Out Starvation, Chandler Sweeps, FFA Chamber Banquet, CHS Alumni Banquet, FFA Bash for Cash, Chamber Crawfish Bowl, Hiland Dairy Ice Cream Festival, Lincoln County Relay for Life, DHS Christmas Adopt a Child, FFA Fall Plant Sale and Royanna’s Soup De Doup.
