Lincoln County commissioners this week voted to change the position of Emergency Management Assistant Director to an exempt status.
Charlotte Brown, appointed by the commissioners two weeks ago to EM Executive Director following Cody McDonell’s resignation, explained to the commissioners it makes more sense to have the Assistant Director in exempt status due to the number of comp hours that position accumulates.
“We’re on call 24 hours a day,” Brown said. “Anytime we’re reviewing and responding to email, answering calls from our vehicle, we’re considered on duty,” she noted.
Commissioners agreed with her assessment and explanation and approved it.
Commissioners agreed to obtain quotes from Apprentice for the District Attorney’s new office IT service. They also amended an Unpaved Road Grant resolution.
They tabled several agenda items, including approving a quote for water coolers, appointing a Fair Board member from District 3 and adopting a resolution for Use Tax Accrued Interest Account for Fire Departments.
In other business, commissioners: Took no action on approving a contract with the 911 Trust Authority.
Later in the meeting they decided to set a special joint meeting with the Authority for 1:30 p.m. Feb. 28.
Approved title sheets for the Kendrick Road Project (EW85) over Salt Creek in District 1.
Adopted a resolution for disposing of equipment for District 1.
Approved an amended contract with RailRoad Yard Services for a bid on bridge No. 41-74.
Adopted a resolution appointing requesting and receiving officers for OSU Extension Office.
Discussed grant projects with the Opioid Abatement grant.
Adopted a CBRI resolution for rock procurement for all three Districts.
Approved a grant application for the Community Safety Investment Fund.
Agreed to apply for Urban and Community Forestry Assistance grants.
Approved a grant letter of support for Circuit Engineering District 4 bridge investment program.
Approved an agreement with the Oklahoma Department of Emergency Management and Homeland Security for a GIS Cleanup grant.
Approved OK Emergency Management Grants Access Authorization form.
Approved the Purchase Card Payment Approval form.
