To the editor: On my way back from Shawnee one evening last week, I stopped in Meeker at a convenience store.
Well, I locked my pickup doors with the keys still inside.
Told the store clerk of my dilemma and she called the Meeker Police Department. In a couple of minutes, a police officer showed up with a car door unlocking kit.
He used a couple of pneumatic devices to pry a top corner of the driver’s side door open about a quarter of an inch. He had a small rod with an end hook, with which he reached down inside and raised the lock knob.
He was very courteous, helpful and appreciated, I must say.
No charge! So here is praise to the Meeker Police Department! A professional agency.
