Let’s all join Sac and Fox Nation Division for Victims of Crime (DVOC) for a Community Duck Hunt for Sexual Assault Awareness Month. DVOC will be hiding teal ducks throughout the community. If you find one, bring it to the trade-in station for a free T-shirt. The next trade-in station will be April 30th from 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. at Sac and Fox Justice Center located at 356159 926 Road in Stroud. Each duck will have a card attached. Simply scan the QR Code labeled Duck Hunt Instructions to access steps to claim your T-shirt.
The rules are that only one duck may be turned in per person and the duck must have the card around its neck to be valid. Good luck and happy duck hunting.

Head Start/Early Head Start is currently taking applications for the fall school year. Applications may be picked up at the Stroud office, 405 West Main Street. Children birth through five years of age are eligible to attend the program if admission requirements are met. Be sure and get your application in soon to be placed on the waiting list for the fall semester.
The City of Stroud is currently taking applications for lifeguards for the Stroud Swimming Pool. Applications may be picked up at City Hall. The deadline to return your application is May 2nd so pick yours up today.

Congratulations to Laci O’Donnell for being chosen one of KWTV News on 9’s Student of the Week. Laci is a senior at Stroud High School. She has a 4.0 GPA and participates in Student Council and National Honor Society. She has been a varsity cheerleader for four years and an All-American Cheerleader for two years. She plans to attend NSU in Tahlequah and pursue a degree in Elementary Education.

It was a fun week of baseball for the Stroud Tigers Middle School baseball team. The Tigers won big over Pawnee Junior High Monday night, April 7th defeating the Bears 10-0. Scoring runs for the Tigers were Gideon Smalley (3), Lane Day (2), Gage Bailey (2), Leelyn Neuman (2) and Rhyss Pennock (1). Pitcher Gideon Smalley allowed no runs no hits in three perfect innings striking out eight and walking none. It came down to the wire last Thursday when the Tigers took on the Chandler Lions in Stroud. The game ended on a walk-off double by Gage Bailey scoring Gideon Smalley in an extra inning. The team came back to win despite trailing 7-3 in the 5th inning. Starting pitcher Gideon Smalley surrenderer five runs on five hits (two earned) over four innings striking out eight and walking none. Scoring runs for the Tigers were Gideon (3), Lane Day (2), Gage (1), and Leelyn Neuman (2). The Tigers will travel to Wetumka on Thursday, April 17th for a 2:00 p.m. game to compete in the Wetumka Tournament. Head Coach for the Tigers is Nick Hoover.
