Ray went to be with his Savior on Friday, May 23, after a long battle with cancer. He was born September 20, 1947, in Chandler, OK, to Ray Ervin Thronesbery Sr. and Dorothy Hoover Thronesbery.
He attended Chandler Public Schools and graduated from high school in 1965. Upon graduation, he joined the Army National Guard and transferred to the U.S Navy and served in Vietnam, stationed in Cam Ranh Bay,Vietnam, and Subic Bay, Philippines. He was a member of the VFW. After returning from the service, he married his wife on August 8, 1969. Ray enjoyed golfing, fishing, and studying the Holy Bible. He attended the FirstAssembly of God church in Chandler as well as the Independent Baptist Church in Davenport.
He is preceded in death by his parents and one daughter, Gina Rae Thronesbery. He is survived by his wife, Virginia Darlene Thronesbery, and two sons, CharlesWayneThronesbery of Davenport, OK, and David Michael Thronesbery and wife Hailey Thronesbery of Mesa, Arizona; two grandchildren; along with several nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles.
Graveside services were held Wednesday, May 28, 2025, at Oak Park Cemetery, Chandler, OK. Condolences can be expressed at www.parksbrothers.net. Services were in the care of Parks Brothers Funeral Service in Chandler, OK.
