National Guard Center update

The Oklahoma National Guard (OKNG) Joint Operations Center (JOC) in Chandler is expected to be completed by December 2025, weather permitting.

The facility is dried, and the company building it is working on the interior, according to LTC Kristin Tschetter, chief of public affairs for the OKNG. She added that it’s about 60 percent completed.

Tschetter said the JOC will be strategically located between Oklahoma’s two major metro areas of Oklahoma City and Tulsa.

“Partnered with Oklahoma Emergency Management (OEM) and serving as a central hub, the OKNG JOC will be geographically positioned to plan, synchronize, and coordinate assistance for the citizens of Oklahoma during times of need,” she said.

It will be a standalone facility, positioned to focus on responding to emergencies across the state of Oklahoma.

She said it will also bring more full-time personnel and several traditional personnel on drill weekends, all of whom will participate in Chandler’s Economy and Community.

“The Oklahoma National Guard has enjoyed a long relationship with Chandler and this facility supports the growth and strengthening of that partnership,” Tschetter said.
