Meeker Board of Education members this week approved the hiring of several adjunct teachers and approved an update to the District's CLEP Plan.
Without needing to enter into an executive session, the members approved hiring the following for adjunct positions.
Debbie Flowers, elementary music; Jocie Wilson, 3rd grade; Brenna Rodgers, 6th grade, science, 7th grade, 8th grade careers, 8th grade Health; Robert Shockley US/OK History, Government, Economics; Marcie Simpson, 7th grade science; Amanda Cloud, High School English; Graham Gooch, Physical Science; Pat Hargus, Government; Jerri Loveland, High School English.
Board members also approved a contract with Secondary Career and Technology Education Program for 2025-2026 and approved several policy updates.
During their reports, principals spoke about the various activities taking place as the new school year begins today, Thursday, Aug. 14.
High School Principal Brad Buxton projected an enrollment of 273 students, Middle School Principal Matt Jones told the board he thinks he'll have at least 176 and Elementary Principal Sarah Flowers said she thinks PreK through 5th will be around 327.
Two District patrons addressed the board during Public Comments and spoke about lack of resources for Special Education. One, a teacher, asked to be on the agenda at next month's meeting.
