The Lincoln County Commissioners approved applying for the Comprehensive Opiod, Stimulant and Substance Use Program (COSSUP) grant in their regular meeting on Feb. 2. The grant will cover the salary of a county employee, who will help with getting providers into the jail for mental health and substance abuse in order to reduce the number of people returning to jail for those reasons, according to District #3 Commissioner Lee Doolen. The commissioners also approved the hiring of Leslie Wilbourn of 5 Tool Management as the project manager for the remodel of the west room and building reface at the Lincoln County Fairgrounds, along with letting bids for the projects.
Additionally, they voted to allow the Oklahoma Gas and Electric Company to use the fairgrounds parking lot as a staging area in the event of a natural disaster and accepted a gravel donation for District #2. Doolen said it’s to gravel a road where someone has built a house.
Other items approved are:
● The Lincoln County Safety and Health Program
● Let bids for the sell of a 1996 Freightliner Truck Tractor in District #3
● The CLEAN Uniform service agreement
