Fleak resigns as Prague superintendent

Emily Kalka Staff Writer ThePragueSchoolBoard approved the resignation of Superintendent Kimberly Fleak at their regular meeting on Feb. 9. The resignation will be effective as of June 30, 2026.

TheBoardthenapproved adjunct teachers for SY 26. The teachers are Sara Branson for Safety Education, Amanda Camren for Modern World History, April Davis for Music and Casey LaValley for Physical Education. Following that,theBoardapprovedthe employment of Samantha Prelle as a paraprofessional.

The School Board additionally approved the increase of PO#5 forTerrell Lumber by $5,000, taking the total to $12,254.36. They also approved an increase of $7,000 to PO#5 to OSSBA Employment Services, taking that to $12,660.

Superintendent Fleak gave a presentation during the meeting, presenting the Teachers of the Year for 2025-26 for each school site. The early childhood center chose Leslie Kroutil, the elementary school selected Lauren Strickland, the middle school chose Haley Jones and the high school selected Sara Branson. Fleak said that all the recipients were very deserving of the award.

During this time, school board member Jarrod Van-Zant recognized Rhett Quary for being selected for the Canadian Valley Scholarship program.

The school board also approved the calendar for the 2026-27 school year, contracts with SEES, OKTLE, McRELforemployee evaluation for FY27 and Quality Choice Testing for drug tests for FY27, and a software and support agreement with ADPC for software and support.
