Alvin Raymond Hightower of Stroud was born March 1, 1929, in Stroud and died Thursday, September 26, 2019, in Tulsa, Okla. He was 90 years old.
Hightower, the son of Ples and Leota Mae (Bunyard) Hightower, married Stella Mae Hightower on August 10, 1950, in Chandler.
Following her death, he married Alta (Ash) Hightower on September 11, 1995, in Stroud.
He served in both the United States Navy and Army and retired as a truck driver from Miller Truck Lines.
He was a member of Stroud Free Will Baptist Church.
Alvin was also preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, four sisters, and his daughter Darlene Hightower.
Survivors include his wife Alta of Stroud; his son Raymond Hightower of Tulsa; his daughter Debra Kay Harrison of Tulsa; and his brother Poker Hightower of Prague.
He is also survived by his stepson Bill Ash and wife Beverly of Stroud; his stepdaughter JoAnn Weeks and husband Rickey of Stroud; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and other family and friends.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, October 1, 2019, at Free Will Baptist Church with Pastor Tim Gillespie officiating. Burial will follow at Stroud Cemetery under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service in Stroud.
