Charges filed for Bryant

A Stroud man faces 11 charges and authorities are looking for him after a bench warrant was issued for his arrest.

Kevin Michael Bryant, 39, has been charged in Lincoln County District Court with three felonies and eight misdemeanor counts. The charges were filed last week on Jan. 14 and the $15,000 bench warrant was issued the same day, court records show.

An affidavit for issuance of that warrant was also filed the same day as well.

The three felony charges filed against Bryant include possession of firearm after felony conviction, knowingly receiving stolen property and unlawful use of a police radio.

The possession of firearm after former felony conviction accuses Bryant on Aug. 22, 2019, of possessing a Ruger M77 Hawkeye .204 caliber rifle in Lincoln County after having been convicted of Conspiracy to Deliver a Controlled Dangerous Substance (CDS) on Jan. 10, 2007, in Lincoln County and sentenced to five years.

The crime is punishable by imprisonment for 1 to 10 years.

All the charges Bryant faces accuses him of offenses he reportedly committed on Aug. 22, 2019.

In the knowingly concealing stolen property count, he is accused of concealing nine steel traps that had been stolen from the U.S. Government at 351213 East 760 Road, Cushing, Lincoln County and that he had reasonable cause to believe they had been stolen.

That crime is punishable by the maximum punishment in the Department of Corrections of up to five years and the maximum punishment in the county jail is one year with a maximum fine of $500.

The third felony against Bryant charges him with unlawful use of a police radio by operating a radio and receiving transmission of the Payne County Sheriff’s Office in Lincoln County.

Conviction on that crime could bring him a term in prison not exceeding three years and/or a $5,000 fine, court records state.

Bryant faces seven misdemeanor counts of possession of illegal game/sale of game. Each of those charges accuse him of having Whitetail Deer antlers with a portion of the skull still attached without having a permit to do so.

If convicted on those, it could bring him imprisonment in the county jail for not less than 10 days nor more than 30 or a fine not less than $500 nor more than $1,000 or by both fine and imprisonment.

The eighth misdemeanor against Bryant is for possession of CDS. The charge states he was in possession of 11,46 grams of methamphetamine. Punishment for that charge is not more than one year and a fine not exceeding $1,000.
