If you ask yourself what is the most enjoyable thing in your life you like to do. Then make a list of the second and third and go on down and list until you run out of things.
What is your first thing on your list to do? Was it what Jesus said to do? I can assure you if it is not, we can find ourselves living without the Inward Person in control. When the Inward Person is in control you will find the joy in yourself that is beyond explanation, and the things you had found to be most enjoyable just a thorn in your side. This will not take away from your joy or family or anything that is good for us to do. In fact, we will be even more concerned about how our actions affect others the most on top of what is happening. After we learn how this all works, we will be really concerned that we don’t stand before the Lord, and He asked us what was the most enjoyable thing we did in life, and us saying serving You Lord when He will already know.
Lots of scriptures say we can’t serve two masters. Putting our Creator first does not take away from us but adds to us with what is right. Remember Jesus said the pleasures of this life choke the word out of us.
We are to love our Lord, our God with all our heart, with all our strength, and with all our soul. Just try getting there and see what happens. You will not regret it I assure you, and don’t be the person in the parable of the sower that found this, but the things of this world choked it out.
