This is the Sixty-Seventh article in a semi-permanent column for Stroud Arts that appears in the Stroud American. The mission of these articles is to inform, educate and inspire you, the reader, to Make Art Happen in your life and the life of our community.
There is nothing so rewarding for an Actor than to perform for a full capacity Audience!
For the Stroud Arts cast of the upcoming MMDT “The VanDersloan Conundrum,’ it is an experience they are ready to enjoy as the, by reservation only, ticket sales now number over Fifty-five and are closing in on the full capacity of Seventy-Five!
For the Stroud Chamber of Commerce, host of the event and providers, under the Direction of Celebrity Chef and Stroud Chamber of Commerce President, Kyle Anderson, of the Three Course Dinner, the reservations provide a secure assurance that this program will be a successful event in both an Artistic, Community Activity and Financial avenues.
For Stroud Arts, providers of the Murder Mystery performance, the goals of the event both Artistically, Community Supported and Financially are the same!
Stroud Arts and The Stroud Chamber of Commerce are both Non-Profit organizations, and while some people assume that the term ‘Non-Profit’ means that the Organization can’t make a profit, the truth of the matter is that if these organizations do not make a profit they will cease to exist.
Both entities have monthly utility bills, Insurance fees, office supplies and Administrative costs that, while not as extensive as most companies, will continue to deplete any cash reserves available.
In addition, as everyone knows, the 2020 Covid Shut down decimated any financial inflow these Organizations would have received creating a fiscal crisis that almost shuttered their doors.
Now, with the world opening back up, the Murder Mystery Dinner Theatre will provide a cash infusion, that will allow both organizations to keep the lights on, and give them the financial security where they can move forward to the next Community Program.
BTW, the next event will be the Stroud Community Festival on Saturday, June 12 which will combine the Chambers Annual Wine Festival, the Stroud Fire Department Muster and Stroud Arts Kids Art Zone and First Annual Mural Spray Paint Competition. More on this next week!
Tickets for the MMDT are going fast and if you cant attend this event, then let us know if you would like more of these activities and we will plan for another, completely original Mystery in a few months.
In closing, Stroud Arts would like to again extend their gratitude and appreciation to Stroud Masonic Lodge #142 for their support of our organization as we produce this event.
Until next time and definitely this Saturday night…Make Art Happen!
