Jim Norman, longtime Davenport, Okla., resident was born April 6, 1942, in Wewoka, Okla., and departed this life on Wednesday, January 13, 2021, in Chandler, Okla., at the age of 78 years.

Jim was the son of Charles Thurman “C.T.” and Ella (Barkhimer) Norman. He graduated from Davenport High School in 1961.

Jim married Jo Dickerson on June 2, 1962. He owned and operated a dairy before starting Davenport Roustabout, which he ran until selling it to his son Rusty.

Jim was a hard worker, always busy doing something, and loved being in charge. In more recent years, he enjoyed spending time with his grandkids, as they showed cattle, hogs, and played sports. Jim was an OU fan and loved to make his rounds to the casinos. Jim was a kind and honest man with a huge heart and will be greatly missed.

His parents, wife Jo, daughter Kelly Chapa, grandson Kade Chapa and brother Melvin Norman preceded Jim in death.

Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Jimmy and Paula Fieselman, Rusty and Deborah Norman; four grandchildren, Kortney Fieselman, Ty Chapa, Levi Fieselman, Ethan Norman; four great-grandchildren, Waylon Fieselman, Keaston Fieselman, Kleo Fieselman and Jackson Chapa; one brother Thurman Norman; one son-in-law, Orlando Chapa; other relatives and many friends.

A Graveside Service was held Saturday, January 16, 2021, at Davenport Cemetery with the Rev. Mike Mitchell officiating.
