William Joseph “Bill” Jarvis, Chandler, Oklahoma, resident was born June 30, 1935, at St. Mary’s Infirmary in McAlester, Oklahoma. He departed this life on November 17, 2020, in Chandler, at the age of 85 years.

Bill was the son of A.M. and Edna (Hagel) Jarvis. He graduated high school at St. Gregory’s Catholic School in Shawnee. Bill married Marilyn Horinek at St. Francis Catholic Church in Newkirk, Oklahoma, May 17, 1961. He served in the United States Army. Bill was an independent vendor for Borden Dairy Company for many years. In 1984 he opened Bill’s Auto Supply in Chandler. He enjoyed farming and bulldozing. Bill was very devoted to his family and will be greatly missed.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Mary, and one brother Jim.

Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Marilyn; two daughters and sons-in-law, Carol and Dewayne Colwell of Enid, Oklahoma, Linda and Michael McCord of Celina, Texas; one son and daughter-in-law, Tony and Vicky Jarvis of Chandler; four grandchildren, Taylor, Colton, Connor, and James, other relatives and many friends.

A Rosary was held Friday, November 20, 2020, at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church in Chandler. Funeral Mass was held Saturday, November 21, 2020 at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church, with Father Tim Ruckel officiant. Burial followed at Oak Park Cemetery in Chandler. Arrangements were under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service in Chandler, Oklahoma.
