You know the fun part of birthday parties when everyone sings happy birthday and you get to blow out the candles on your cake?
Well that part turns out to be Charlee’s least favorite part.

Last weekend I received a piece of mail from my county election board. It was an application for absentee ballot. By filling out this application, it will allow the county election board to send me absentee ballots for all elections which I am eligible to participate in this calendar year (2023).
The Spirit of America Route 66 Museum is just a couple of months away from owner Steve Brant’s anticipated opening date.
It is going to be an exciting addition to not only our Main Street but for Route 66 as well.
After a quick review of last year, I am happy to report that I cleared New Year’s without breaking any of my three main resolutions for 2022.
They were: - To not eat liver any time during the year.
- To not visit Kazakhstan - To lose some weight.
Sunday marked the beginning of a new year, 2023.
In reflecting on what some New Year’s Days used to be like when I growing up, I began to think about some of those when I was a teenager.

The recent appointment of current District Attorney Adam Panter to serve a four-year term as DA of Lincoln and Pottawatomie Counties signals a continuation of turning that office around and getting it fixed.
Christmas is always full of laughs and craziness in my family.
This year was a lot calmer and pretty quiet.
We started the morning showing Charlee and Tillie that Santa ate the cookies and drank the milk they left out for him.
Then we moved on to opening gifts.
Two weeks ago Saturday morning, I was going to put in my hearing aids before coming to the office for a few hours.
Curious thing, though. The charger for the aids on the kitchen was knocked on its side and the aid for my left ear was a few inches away.
