This year’s annual Pottawatomie County Free Fair has come and gone and some of those exhibiting animals and participating with their exhibits are headed to the Oklahoma State Fair. Something I don’t think I’ve done much of, if ever, was viewing the rabbits.

Town Talk and the American Legion Auxiliary are hosting an exciting event, Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy, on Saturday, November 12th. We are bringing the Andrew Sisters, or at least their tribute trio, to Stroud to entertain our veterans as well as anyone else who would like to attend.

Kindra has a large collection of sprinkles. And by ‘large,’ I mean there are somewhere between three dozen and 400 bottles of the colorful little sugared pellets arranged on the kitchen counter and bar.

Community activities taking place this week are City Council meeting tonight, Thursday, September 8th at 6:00 p.m. You can find the meeting agenda on the City of Stroud web site. Also, American Legion Auxiliary will be meeting tonight, September 8th at 6:00 p.m. at the American Legion building.

Charges dropped in grow house

Two felonies filed against the owner of a major illegal marijuana grow operation who was charged following her arrest by agents in June of last year have been dismissed. Sai Ying Lin, of Tryon, 48 at the time, was formally charged in Lincoln County District Court June 23, 2021.

MIKE McCORMICK My wife Pat and I usually stay close to home on holiday weekends. Seldom do we travel even down to our small place at Lake Eufaula. But this Labor Day weekend we decided to venture down to our place that we hadn’t been able to since the last weekend in March of this year.

Kindra and I were in the fruit section of the grocery store Saturday, picking out apples for lunches and snacks this week. My hands were full of Honeycrisps and Galas, so Kindra stepped toward the baggie dispenser to get a couple.
