Davenport’s Bulldogs opened their district play last week, easily winning a home contest and needing only one half to defeat Strother 58-6. Davenport Coach John Greenfield said, “We played well. Strother had only nine players, but we had only 15 ourselves,” he noted.

Stroud moves to 4-2, 3-0 in district

Stroud rolled off its fourth straight win and moved into a two-way tie for first place in District A-6 by clipping the Hartshorne Miners 42-21 Friday night. The Tigers and the Mounds Eagles sit atop the district with 3-0 league records and will meet at Jack Poskey Stadium in Stroud on Oct. 21.
