Millwood downs Lions, 36-14

Sophomore quarterback Rickey Hunt scored Millwood’s first 28 points of the game and led the Falcons to a 36-14 win over the Lions Friday night. Hunt ran for two scores in the first quarter, including a 72-yarder, one in the second and one in the third.

Meeker plows Star-Spencer

Meeker racked up 32 points in the first quarter against Star-Spencer and went to clip the Bobcats, 52-6. It was the Bulldogs’ highest point total and most lop-sided win of the year.

Wellston 45s Kansans

Wellston put up a season-high 92 points en route to a mercy rule win over visiting Life Prep Academy Thursday night. The win was the fourth in five games for the Tigers, who are now 4-4 for the season and face Cornerstone Academy at home on Friday.

Davenport 56, Depew 6

Davenport’s Bulldogs gave the scoreboard a workout in Depew Friday night, ringing up 56 points and getting their first district win of the season.

McLoud keys in on Perkins game

McLoud High School Football Coach Rusty Hall believes Friday night’s district road game at Perkins will determine if his Redskins or Perkins go to the playoffs. Hall said, “The winner of this game I think will get the fourth playoff spot.” Kickoff is at 7 p.m. on Perkins’ home field.

Fastpitch state tournament

Stroud and Dale fastpitch closed out the season last weekend as two of the top four teams in the state in Class 2A. Stroud, winners in 12 of its previous 13 games, beat Amber-Pocassett 9-2 in the first round of the state tournament on Thursday, then fell 7-3 to finals-bound Dale on Friday.

Big win for the Tigers

Once they got past a penalty-filled first quarter, the Wellston Tigers had little trouble dispatching the Sunrise Christian Academy Buffaloes, 58-28, on Homecoming Friday night.

Stroud D keys win over Choteau

The Stroud Tigers picked up their first win of the season Friday, blanking Chouteau, 25-0. It was the first time for the Tigers to be on the field in almost a month, thanks to opponents cancelling games due to COVID-19 outbreaks.
