After months of wondering, the long awaited answer has arrived. The Friday night lights will be turned on and football will be played. With the COVID-19 virus, concerns have been raised regarding masks, social distancing and any new precautionary procedures.

Zoe Kate Randall competed as a Level 4 gymnast in the MEGA Meet on March 7th in McAlester, OK. Zoe tied for 2nd place in the Level 4 All-Around, with first place finishes on vault and bars. Zoe is on the Rising Star Gymnastics team in Shawnee, with Coach Debbie Simonson.

State tournament starts on Thursday

The Dale High School basketball teams for the second consecutive year are headed to the Class 2A state tournament that opens play today (Thursday). The teams play at different venues and at different times. Coach Eric Smith’s Lady Pirates square off against Latta at 2 p.m.

JUCO tournament returns to Shawnee

This year’s 2020 Region II National Junior College Athletic Association tournament scheduled for March 4-7 at Oklahoma Baptist University marks a milestone. It’s the 25th consecutive year for the tournament to be played in Shawnee.
