‘Not guilty’ plea in Lincoln County shooting

A man facing three felonies following a Lincoln County shooting near Wellston in February of 2023 that injured a person has pleaded not guilty and has been set for trial.Casey Mac Wilson, 42, of Midwest City, was formally charged in Lincoln County District Court on Feb.

Texas driver charged with manslaughter

A manslaughter charge has been filed against a man identified as the driver of a vehicle involved in a fatal traffic collision on the Turner Turnpike in Lincoln County.

Local college students receive honors

Three Lincoln County residents recently received various honors from universities.Kyla Zapata from Stroud was inducted into Phi Kappa Phi, Cade Harelson from Chandler graduated from Emporia State University, and Elizabeth Moore from Chandler made the Dean’s Honor Roll at Fort Hays State University.

Earl Jones, a Tupelo resident, passed away Friday,March15,2024, at the age of 90. Born on April 9, 1933, north of Walters, Oklahoma, on Cache Creek. Earl was the son of Claud and Willie (Lovelady) Jones. In 1951, he married Ruth Turnpaugh, and together they raised three children.
