A Sparks man who already has seven previous felony convictions faces a new felony.Richard William Long, 55, was formally charged in Lincoln County District Court Dec. 8, 2025 with domestic abuse—assault and battery.

A time capsule almost lost to time has been unearthed in Chandler.Discovered in a forgotten corner of the Public Works department, the capsule was presented to the City Council at its regular meeting on Dec. 9, along with a brick that said to open in 2026.

Hearing continued in Meeker embezzle-

The preliminary hearing for a Meeker couple arrested and charged with embezzling more than $170,000 from a Meeker church they had pastored has been continued until February. The couple has made their initial appearance and their preliminary hearings have been scheduled.

CMA rejects contract amendment

The Chandler Municipal Authority rejected a contract amendment from SRB Engineering for services related to the water treatment plant at their regular meeting on Dec. 9. The amendment asked for an additional $268,900.
