Annie Brannon, Jessica Brannon and Leah Brannon have been named September Lions of the Month by the Lion’s Club. The Chandler High School seniors are the triplet daughters of Dale and Deborah Brannon.
Annie maintains a 3.98 grade point average while taking concurrent and online classes through Rose State College in Midwest City, Okla., and Brigham Young University, Salt Lake City, Utah.
She participated in the CHS Gifted and Talented Program and is a member of the Oklahoma High School Honor Society. She consistently earns a spot on the Superintendent’s Honor Roll and was selected to serve on the BancFirst Student Board of Directors.
Annie was her freshman class vice president and junior class president. She was the State Essay Contest winner for Safari Club International and received the American Legion School Award.
She was involved in CHS athletic programs winning multiple awards. In archery, she was an Oklahoma Western State Champion and Grand State Champion. She placed fourth in the Western National Championships in Salt Lake City and was a three-time qualifier and competitor in both the National and World Championship competitions.
She helped the crosscountry team earn Academic State Champions and was an elementary manager. She also participated in track and field, cheer, basketball and shot gunning.
Her other extracurricular activities included Postponing Sexual Involvement, Positive Peers and Fellowship of Christian Athletes. She plays the violin and was the junior football homecoming attendant.
Annie has served the community through The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints as a church camp youth leader and the church youth group secretary. She helped out with the Douglas Gym renovation, the Veterans Day Assembly and Relay for Life and other community events.
Following high school, she plans to attend undergraduate school at Brigham Young University before going to medical school at the University of Oklahoma in Norman.
Jessica holds a 4.0 GPA while taking advanced classes in English, Honors English and Algebra III. She has taken concurrent classes at Rose State College and done independent study through BYU. She is a member of Oklahoma and National Honor Societies and is three-year Academic Letter recipient.
She participated in the CHS Gifted and Talented Program and was chosen to serve on the BancFirst Student Board of Directors. Jessica served as freshman class president and was vice president of her junior and senior classes. She was a member of the Edmond Stake Youth Committee and youth leader for FCA.
Jessica has earned multiple awards in track and field.
She was a seven-time State Qualifier earning runner-up in the 4x400 relay and was named to the Daily Oklahoman’s 2019 Little All-City girl’s track team.
She was involved in CHS Pom helping the squad to achieve Academic State Champions for four years and state champions in jazz and pom for two. She also participated in basketball and shot gunning. She was a manager for football and a cross-country student trainer.
Other extracurricular activities include Postponing Sexual Involvement, Positive Peers and student council. She has taken piano for 10 years and received the Breckenridge Repertoire Award.
Jessica’s community service includes cleanup after the 2020 ice storm, renovation of the Douglas Gym and site cleanups through her church. She helped out at the food pantry and with community events such as Special Olympics and Relay for Life.
Her future plans are to pursue degrees in athletic training and occupational therapy at BYU.
Leah holds a 4.0 GPA while taking concurrent and online classes through Rose State College and BYU. A participant in the CHS Gifted and Talented Program, she is a member of the Oklahoma High School Honor Society and is consistently listed on the Superintendent’s Honor Roll.
An accomplished athlete, she earned All-State in cross-country and received Best of Tri-County Area Preps Cross Country Award and Scholarship. She was a six-time State Qualifier in multiple track events and was runner-up in the 400-meter race and 4x400m relay. In archery, she qualified to compete in National and World competitions earning third place at the Western National Championships in Salt Lake City.
Leah’s extracurricular activities include softball, Postponing Sexual Involvement, Positive Peers, Business Professionals of America and Fellowship of Christian Athletes. She received the Breckenridge Repertoire Award for piano.
She has served the community through The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints as a congregational chorister, camp youth leader, Regional Church Youth Committee and as president of the youth group. She participated in Stamp Out Starvation, renovation of the Douglas Gym, Veterans Day Assembly and Relay for Life.
After graduation, Leah plans to major in engineering at BYU.
In addition to their studies and extracurricular activities, all three students are co-founders of Camp Copperhead, a summer camp for children. Annie, director and financial director, is in charge of marketing and social media and is an outdoor skills counselor. Jessica serves as counselor for both crafts and for the sixseven year old age group. Leah is scheduling director and field and water games counselor. They also had employment at Eyestone Landscape Services, Dream Catcher Photography and Brannon Farms.
