Grateful for bonus blessings

Majority of the time when you do something, you don’t think about the bonuses that come along with it.

You think about the situation at hand and that’s it. That is exactly what I did when I started dating Brayden.

I didn’t think about getting anything besides Brayden.

Little did I know I’d be getting a few other lifelong relationships.

Not only would I gain these relationships, but so would Charlee and Tillie. I remember the Saturday morning when Brayden asked us to go to his family reunion.

I thought to myself, is he serious? Before I knew it those words were coming out of my mouth.

He informed me he was very serious and that he didn’t ask sooner because he thought I just knew he wanted us to come. I knew Brayden’s sister and cousins from when we were in school.

But to be included in a family event is a big deal to me. Brayden has no kids except ours so coming into a family event as a mom with two kids was a first for me and I was a bit nervous.

We got there and his family was quick to make me feel welcome and comfortable.

Charlee and Tillie were greeted with the sweetest words about how cute they are and big smiles. I instantly felt a lot less nervous.

It was a good day and the girls loved everyone. That day the girls and I got a blessing I had never considered getting. Jodasea, our new sister/aunt has gone above and beyond for the girls and I ever since that day.

She has invited us to everything, always makes us feel included, shared her family with us, had slumber parties with the girls, and been there when I needed her.

I’ve watched her love my girls like her very own and have felt the endless amount of love she has to give.

She has made the long drive after a full day of work just to make sure I knew I had her forever.

She’s hugged me and filled my heart when I felt broken. We are truly blessed with Jodasea.

I wish everyone knew her love because it’s something special. I’m so thankful the girls and I get to be some of the lucky people.

So anytime you make a decision just know there will be hidden bonuses. Some of them might be bad things but man, those good ones, they’re the best.
