The number of new cases in the area attributed to COVID-19 has jumped a little in Pottawatomie and Lincoln Counties, Oklahoma State Department of Health figures show.
There has been one new death in Lincoln County since the last report, but none in Pottawatomie County. The OSDH has quit reporting gender and age group of those who have passed away due to COVID-19.
The OSDH recently began reporting the breakdown of deaths and new cases on a weekly basis rather than daily. The agency has stated the reason is because of the decline in COVID-19 cases recently.
The agency is releasing that information on Wednesdays so the most recent numbers provided here are from April 21 since this week’s edition went to press Tuesday night, April 27.
There have been 123 deaths in Pottawatomie County attributed to COVID-19.
Lincoln County has 70 reported deaths.
The number of positive cases has risen just a bit in both Pottawatomie and Lincoln counties, OSDH figures show.
The number of new positive tests in Pottawatomie County jumped by 33 and in Lincoln County they increased by 15, according to figures provided by the OSDH.
Between the two counties, the number of positive tests jumped by 48 from the most recent report by the OSDH. The previous report had that number increasing by 92.
Lincoln County’s latest number is 3,213. It was 3,198 at the last report.
The number of people testing positive for the virus in Pottawatomie County now stands at 8,304. Last report it was 8,271.
The total number testing positive in the two counties now stands at 11,517.
Total number of people who have recovered in the two counties is now 11,103 the OSDH said. In Pottawatomie County, 8,026 have recovered and 3,77 have recovered in Lincoln County.
