McLoud City Manager Buck Day has resigned and the City Council voted unanimously to have him terminate Police Chief Wes Elliott who already had submitted a letter of resignation.

Day explained that the Council combined executive sessions on Elliott and him. He spent some time in executive session with the Council, he said. When the Council returned to open meeting, no action was taken concerning his employment.
The only action as the result of the executive session was a 5-0 vote advising him to terminate Elliott which he said he did the following morning.
During the June monthly Council meeting, council members didn’t even go into an executive session before voting on Day’s contract which called for him to be paid $66,836.60.
Day said in June there were only three Council members present during almost all of the meeting, including Mayor Stan Jackson, Vice Mayor Ralph Snider and Councilman Steven Tomaszewski.
