The number of deaths in the area attributed to COVID-19 has risen by three over the past week, but the number of new cases in Pottawatomie and Lincoln Counties has slowed significantly, Oklahoma State Department of Health figures show.
There have been two more deaths in Pottawatomie County and one Lincoln County. The OSDH is not providing any information on deaths regarding gender and age group as they had been previously.
There now have been 83 deaths in Pottawatomie County attributed to COVID-19. That number compares to 81 a week ago, OSDH figures show.
Lincoln County has 58 reported deaths, one more than a week ago.
Over the past week, the number of positive cases has risen some in both Pottawatomie and Lincoln counties, OSDH figures show.
The number of new positive tests in Pottawatomie County jumped by 53 in the last week and in Lincoln County they increased by 28, according to figures provided by the OSDH.
Between the two counties, the number of positive tests has jumped by 81 in the last seven days.
Lincoln County’s number this week is 3,128. A week ago it was 3,100. Two weeks ago it was 3,005 the OSDH said.
The number of people testing positive for the virus in Pottawatomie County this week stands at 8,044. Last week it was 7,991. The county’s total two weeks ago was 7,748.
The total number testing positive in the two counties now stands at 11,172.
Total number of people who have recovered in the two counties is now 10,758 the OSDH said. In Pottawatomie County, 7,768 have recovered and 2,990 have recovered in Lincoln County.
Statewide as of Tuesday, 432,024 people have tested positive, there have been 4,788 Oklahoma deaths and 416,604 have recovered. Active cases stand at 11,401, the OSDH reports.
This week on Tuesday, the OSDH reported 232 new positive cases confirmed and 13 additional deaths.
The OSDH reports that 3,231,923 people have tested negative.
