Lincoln County commissioners this week approved an agreement with BKL, an engineering and architectural firm, to finish the design process for the jail expansion.
The estimated cost of the expansion is around $4 million.
Commissioners also approved Oklahoma Department of Transportation forms for a project in District 2 and the Kendrick Road project in District 1.
The commissioners accepted the resignation of Brandon Morgan, deputy director of the Lincoln County Emergency Management Office.
During the discussion, it was stated that Morgan would be the new Rural Fire Defense Coordinator for the Central Oklahoma Economic Development District. The current coordinator, Paul Simpson, who held the position for many years, is retiring.
Commissioners also decided to hold up taking any action on three other agenda items related to Emergency Management. Those included creating a job description for a new Emergency Management employee, determining the needs of the Emergency Management Department and defining a job description for the Emergency Management director as an exempt employee.
In other action, commissioners: Closed out REAP grant 2022-2023 for District 3. Make an account change for a County Bridge and Roads Improvement resolution.
Awarding a quote for flooring in the court room and vault.
Appointed Dr. Jason Crouch of Chandler as member of the Lincoln County Board of Health.
Approved a contract with Jan-Pro Cleaning Systems and the Lincoln Health Department.
Agreed to a contract between FALCO Alarm Co. and the Lincoln County Health Department.
Approved a contract with Creek County Juvenile Justice Detention Center.
Approved a lease purchase extension agreement for District 3.
Accepted a $75 donation from Patricia Cole to Lincoln County District 3.
Approved an Oklahoma Water Resources Board Floodplain Administrator application.
Approved a funding request for the E-911 Trust Authority.
Approved the Purchase Card Approval form.
