A Sparks man who already has seven previous felony convictions faces a new felony.
Richard William Long, 55, was formally charged in Lincoln County District Court Dec. 8, 2025 with domestic abuse—assault and battery.
Special Judge Emily Mueller set Long’s bond at $1,000 with the condition he have no contact with the victim.
She set a hearing for him at 9 a.m. March 12, 2026.
Long is accused on Nov. 28, 2025 of committing assault and battery upon Sheryl Dorman who he was married to by hitting her and throwing her against a wall with force and violence.
Supplemental information filed by Assistant District Attorney Rachel Thompson shows Long has been convicted of at least seven prior felonies.
They include: May 9, 2017 in Mayes County District Court Count 1, domestic abuse by strangulation and Count 2 kidnapping.
On April 18, 2023 in Mayes County District Court grand larceny.
On June 25, 2012, Mayes County District Court driving under the influence of alcohol.
In Mayes County District Court on Dec. 10, 2009 driving under the influence of alcohol.
