Burglary charges

A man has been charged with burglary in the second degree for allegedly entering a building in Chandler with the intent to steal.

The charges were filed on Feb. 11 against Levi Ellis of Prague, 46, by District Attorney Adam Panter.

According to the probable cause affidavit, on March 8, 2025, Deputy Tyler Armitage received a call for a walk-in report, where he met the building’s owner.

The woman said she had been having issues with people breaking into her shop building on property she owns and that it had been ongoing for months, with the Sheriff’s Office doing nothing.

The woman stated she had more evidence to add to the file. Armitage looked for the previous case number, but found the report had not been filed, so he took the woman’s information and evidence and created a new one.

The evidence was photographs obtained from game cameras set up on the property, showing a man and a woman approaching the building in a black Chevrolet sedan. The woman stayed behind while the man went to the south side of the building and then was seen bringing back a tire and wheel. The two then loaded the items into the car. The photographs provided a clear view of the man’s face, according to the affidavit.

On Jan. 9, Deputy Claudio Ocasio was assigned to the case. Ocasio reviewed the photographs and was able to identify Levi Ellis and his vehicle. The deputy then went to what was believed to be Ellis’ residence in Pottawatomie County and informed Ellis that there was an investigation.
