Carney school bond elections on July 11

Carney School District will decide two bond propositions in a special election on July 11.

Proposition No. 1 totals $2,255,000. It’s to construct, furnish, equip and/or acquire a new Ag building estimated to cost $1,505,000; to acquire and install air conditioning at the gym with a projected cost of $645,000; and to acquire and install technology equipment from the proceeds of bonds maturing within five years from their date costing $105,000.

Proposition No. 2 totals $190,000 and is to acquire vehicles for pupil transportation from the proceeds of bonds maturing within five years from their date.

School Supt. Brian Keith said, “It won’t raise taxes. The mills will stay the same.”

Keith actually has resigned and is taking a new job, he noted.

He is the new superintendent of the Pioneer School District.

Lincoln County Election Board Secretary Melissa Stambaugh said sample ballots are available to download or pick up at the County Election Board Office.

She explained to download use the State Election Board OK Voter portal at oklahoma.gov./elections/ ovp.

Sample ballots can be picked up at the Election Board office located at 811 Manvel Avenue, Chandler and is open from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. For questions, contact the Election Board at 405-258-1349 or lincolncounty@elections. ok.gov, Stambaugh said.
