Chandler Board of Education members this week rehired their four principals for the next school year and approved a couple of policies among other items.

School Supt. Scott Baade said following an executive session, the board returned to open meeting and reemployed Lisa Almand as East Side principal; Bridget Hughey, Park Road principal; Freddie Hall, Junior High School principal; and Geoff Metheny, High School principal.

Among the policies approved by the board this week was “The Equal Opportunity Education Scholarship Tax Credit.”

Baade explained, “It allows the school to take donations up to $200,000 per year from individuals and businesses and those donating can receive a tax credit.” He noted the tax credit can be 75 percent for donating for two years and 50 percent for one year.

“You must have a designated purpose for the donation,” Baade said. “We’d use it for technology and for outside the classroom instruction. It’s a way to help our curriculum and programs,” Baade added.

The other policy approved was for graduation. In other business, the board members: Approved a contract for an independent auditor to perform the audit of the 2023/2024 Fiscal Year.
