Chandler Board of Education members this week approved the hiring of several new personnel and accepted the resignations from two others.
They also approved a number of updated policies and surplussed several items.
Chandler School Supt. Scott Baade said the hirings approved by the board include: Franklin Ward, secondary teacher and wrestling coach; Jennifer Savage, secondary science teacher; Stephanie Means, school nurse; Jacob Schultz, secondary STEM teacher; and Ashlin McLain, paraprofessional.
They accepted the resignations of East Side Principal Lisa Almand and East Side teacher Matlin McCray.
The board members voted to request the State Department of Education to have the 2024/2025 school year based on 1,080 hours and 165 days of instruction.
They agreed to a Memorandum of Understanding with the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office for a school resource officer for the 2024/2025 school year.
They authorized Baade to act as the Chandler School District Purchasing agent for Fiscal Year 25.
Board members discussed compliance with the Children’s Protection Act for FY 2025.
They authorized Baade to act as the district agent for food commodities, national school lunch and milk programs and filing of all the other records as required by the U.S. Department of Education for FY 25.
Approved the request for deregulation of library staffing at East Side, Park Road and Secondary libraries for the 2024/2025 school year.
Approved a contract with Kellogg & Sovereign Consulting, LLC., for E-rate management services.
Approved the encumbrance for 12-month employees and summer help for FY25.
Approved the extra duty schedule for the 2024/2025 school year.
Approved a list of technology items as surplus. Approved a 1992 John Deere 770 trator, 5 ft. box blade, 4 ft filter and 4 ft. brush hog as surplus.
Approved a 2006 Chevy Silverado 1500 pickup truck as surplus.
Approve the revision to the policy DHAC “Staff members and electronic or digital communications.”
Approved the policy EIEC “Related Time Courses.”
Approved the revision to the policy EIED “Graduation Requirements.”
Approved the revision to the policy FDA “Student Enrollment Requirements.”
Approved the revision to the policy “Attendance Policy Regulation.”
Approved the revision to the policy “Student Transfers.”
Approved the revision to the policy “Transfers for Special Education Students.”
