Charges against driver

A driver who was stopped on the Turner Turnpike now faces two felonies, one of those for trafficking in illegal drugs.

A state trooper arrested David Robledo, 46, of Sherman Oaks, Calif., in early July on the turnpike. A $150,000 bond has now been issued for Robledo’s arrest.

Robledo was formally charged on Aug. 11 in Lincoln County District Court with trafficking in illegal drugs and falsely personating another to create liability, both felonies, and the misdemeanor of changing lane unsafely on the turnpike.

Special Judge Emily Mueller ordered an earlier $75,000 bond forfeited before issuing the $150,000 bench warrant when Robledo failed to appear for his initial appearance on Aug. 11.

In count 1, Robledo is accused of possessing more than 28 grams of a mixture of substances containing a detectible amount of cocaine when he was stopped by a state trooper on July 2 on the turnpike.

In Count 2, he is charged with falsely impersonating his brother, Alejandro Robledo, by displaying to the trooper a driver’s license belonging to Alejandro Robledo, for the purpose of avoiding responsibility for a traffic violation.

The misdemeanor accuses Robledo of driving a car and by failing to give a proper signal prior to changing lanes.
