A woman from Meeker and a Shawnee man, already charged with felony child abuse, now face additional felonies. One of the counts against the Meeker woman is for intimidation of witness.

Megan Marie Nash, 32, was formally charged in Lincoln County District Court March 19 with child neglect, a felony, and intimidation of witness, a felony.

Jonathon Lee Nice, 36, was formally charged in Lincoln County District Court March 19 with two counts of child abuse.

A $50,000 bench warrant for each of them was issued for their arrest on these most recent charges.

Court records show the warrant was returned and filed on March 25 and they are both due back in court at 1:30 p.m. with an attorney on the latest charges.

On Sep. 22, 2023, each was formally charged in Lincoln County District Court with child abuse.

Their pre-preliminary hearings are scheduled for 1:30 p.m. May 23.

At that time, a $25,000 bench warrant was issued for the arrest of Nash and a $50,000 bench warrant was issued for the arrest of Nice.

Nash now faces three felonies, one for child abuse, another for child neglect and one for intimidation of a witness.

Nice is facing a total of three felony counts of child abuse.

Nash is charged with child neglect by between Sep. 1, 2023, and Jan. 24, 2024 of neglecting three children, one three years old, another 7 and the third 10 by failing to protect them from the physical abuse caused by Jonathon Lee Nice.

The intimidation charge against her alleges between Jan. 8, and Jan. 21, 2024, she feloniously threatened physical harm to two of them who were endorsed witnesses by reading to the victims the probable cause affidavit from the previous felony filed against her in Sep. 22, 2023 and telling them they would be punished if they testified.

Nice is accused between Sep. 1, 2023 and Jan. 24, 2024 of striking the threeyear- old and throwing him to the ground.

He also allegedly between Jan. 1 and Jan. 24 of maliciously grabbing the seven-year-old’s arm and pushing him.

In the charge filed in September of last year, Nash and Nice are accused of between June 29, 2023 and July 6, 2023 of conjointly committing the crime of child abuse by willfully injuring a child under 18 by striking O.W., who was 6 at the time, in the leg with a belt causing injury at 341573 E. 1020 Road in Meeker.

Supplemental information filed by Assistant District Attorney Lori McConnell shows that Nice was convicted on May 5, 2021 in Pottawatomie County District Court with felony Domestic violence by Strangulation.

Lincoln County Detective George Kelly Coleman headed up that investigation with the assistance of Vanessa Parsons with the Child Advocacy Center, Ashley Carson with DHS and others.
