Lincoln County commissioners took action this week on four items related to the Emergency Medical Service 522 District.
They also agreed to let bids for roof repair at the Lincoln County Fairgrounds. Regarding the 522 District, the filing status was confirmed that necessary paperwork has been filed with the Lincoln County Clerk’s Office and the State Health Department ensuring the 522 EMS District establishment has been properly recorded.
Commissioners decided the composition of the EMS Board will include a total of seven members and they will be appointed rather than elected. Each of the three commissioners will appoint two from his district and the atlarge member will be chosen from those six who will recommend a person to the commissioners to be appointed.
The commissioners also decided the timeline to have the six they are selecting will be April 21 which is their second regularly scheduled meeting in April.
Commissioners also approved the Sheriff’s Department applying for a $400,000 Justice Assistance Grant that will be spread over two years. It would allow hiring two additional deputies and provide for educational programs and information.
