The Lincoln County Commissioners approved funding for a Municipal Road Drilling Activity Fund Project (MRDAFP) for the Town of Davenport at their meeting on Feb. 17.
The County is contributing $120,000 from the use tax fund and will approve the resolution at a later meeting. The funds will be used to fix drainage on certain roads.
Wellston also applied for an MRDAFP grant but wasn’t awarded it. The town requested that the County still provide funds previously promised to match the grant for the splash pad -- specifically to pay for paving around drainage. The Commissioners decided not to provide the funds, as it’s for transportation, and they didn’t think it was a good use of the money.
Billy Wayland was nominated and approved as an Industrial Development Board Member from District #2, and the Commissioners also approved the Amended District 3 Unpaved Road Grant resolution.
The Commissioner took no action on awarding a bid for a used grader for District #2 until the next meeting, and also discussed the use of a dispatcher from the Kickapoo Tribe. It was determined that it wouldn’t conflict with the county HR contract.
They also approved a change order with H&H Construction to knock out a wall in one of the Commissioner’s old offices under new business.
Other items include approving the Proclamation for Farm Bureau Week, dropping the legal aid ancillary product due to OPCW not being able to provide the service, and setting open enrollment on April 6, 7 and 8 for the county. The Commissioners also approved the Danker Donation Resolution for time donated to help clear roads during the heavy snow in January.
They also approved a resolution appointing requesting/receiving/ inventory officers for Meeker Nutrition and the Sheriff’s Office/ Jail. The County also approved the Milestone opioid settlement fund check in the amount of $19,051.30 and approved a declaration of surplus for the treasurer’s office and a resolution for disposing of equipment from the treasurer’s and commissioners’ office.
