Lincoln County commissioners this week approved application to the Central Oklahoma Economic Development District (COEDD) for a Community Development Block Grant for a handicap parking lot at the Lincoln County Fairgrounds.
Paul Simpson, with COEDD, advised commissioners of the requirements for seeking the grant. One of those he has said is a countywide survey is needed.
During their meeting on Jan. 23, commissioners also voted to apply for a Community Development Block grant for the Jacktown Fire Department through COEDD.
That community’s survey is still good, he advised them, but the county needs to conduct a survey for the Fairgrounds parking lot. “Someone else has to do the survey because COEDD doesn’t do those,” he noted at that meeting.
Commissioners also approved submitting a grant application for $30,000 to DEQ for the Sheriff’s Office. Sheriff Charlie Dougherty mentioned, “This is the same grant we get each year that we apply for,” he said.
They adopted a use tax resolution to pay $140,000 for the Child Advocacy Center.
They authorized BKL to meet with Lincoln County and the OSU Extension Center to propose a plan for a new Extension Office building.
In other business, commissioners: Approved funding for a Flammable Liquids and Gas (FLAG) training class in the amount of $7,000. Simpson pointed out that the class has to make first, but told commissioners it’s a really good class.
Approved a county utility relocation agreement with the Kendrick Municipal Authority.
Approved change orders for two bids in District 3.
Agreed to an amendment to the wording of the sick and vacation leave accrual section of the Employee Handbook to reflect the new pay period.
Approved an ODOT form to assign claim to Smith and Roberts Land Service for the Kendrick Road project.
Approved spending guidelines for the Opioid settlement.
Voted to move the grant writer’s office to the courthouse.
Approved ARPA fund reimbursement to Emergency Management for the purchase of a generator.
Adopted a Lincoln County C-Pace resolution and approved the agreement for program administration with INCOG.
Agreed to a Division Order contract with Circle 9 Resources (formerly Sunoco Logistics Partners).
Authorized Emergency Management to apply for the Oklahoma Department of Emergency Management and Homeland Security Training grant.
