Chandler Public Schools are grieving the loss of a Junior High School student over the weekend and School Supt. Scott Baade said Tuesday, “It’s tough.”
Baade said that counselors and members of the Ministerial Alliance, especially youth pastors, have been brought in for this week to assist students and staff with the loss.
“Most are stationed at the Junior High. That is where they are concentrated,” he noted.
He pointed out, “We met with Junior High and Senior High staff members Monday night along with the counseling staff and we will make additional training available. We’ll have people available all week.
“We want to make it available to the students and to the staff long time. If a staff member needs to take time for themselves, we want to make sure their classes are covered for that to happen,” he stressed.
Baade emphasized, too, “We’ll make sure that students and staff have access to counseling also.”
A post on social media by Chandler Schools stated in part, “It is with great sadness that we report a death of one of our Junior High students. Please keep our students, families and staff in your thoughts during this difficult time.”
